A Snowy, Heartfelt In-Home Maternity Session in Whitby | Image Published in The Beloved Journal Spring 2025 issue

Some sessions just feel like a big exhale—and this one with Laura and Doug was exactly that. We’ve been friends since high school, so documenting this chapter for them (as they prepare to welcome their baby boy!) was extra special. I drove over during a full-on snowstorm, but honestly, it just added to the cozy vibe of the morning.

One of my favourite images from this session has recently been published in the Spring 2025 issue of The Beloved Journal – A print and digital magazine based in New York, that has deeply inspired my path as a photographer.

You can download or view the Spring Issue of the Magazine here.

We spent the afternoon moving through their home, capturing everything from soft, quiet moments in the nursery to warm mugs and belly laughs in the kitchen. Their connection is so effortless and real—you can see it in the way Doug looks at her and the way Laura lights up. And of course, their two cats made a few sweet appearances too—because what’s family without the fur babies?

After documenting the beauty of their everyday indoors, we stepped outside for a few snowy morning maternity portraits in their yard, and it was so worth it. The falling snow, the soft light, the way they snuggled up in knits—it all felt perfectly them.

This is why I love in-home maternity sessions, it allows your session to feel intimate, honest, and personal—without pressure or posing overload. Just real connection, captured in a way that lasts.

If you’re looking for a Maternity photographer in Durham Region or Toronto, I’d love to capture this special season for you.
