A Relaxed, Meaningful Maternity Session in Courtice

Some sessions just feel easy from the moment we start — and that was exactly the vibe with Bettina and Nathan. We met in Courtice on one of those calm evenings where the light hangs around a little longer, and everything feels unhurried. It was the perfect backdrop for documenting this chapter before their baby girl arrives.

What stood out most was how connected and at ease they were with each other. Bettina moved through the field so naturally, taking in the flowers, the breeze, and those quiet moments where you can almost feel the weight of everything changing in the best way. Nathan stayed close, making her laugh, and just being there in that very genuine, supportive way that you can’t pose or plan — it just happens.

They brought a few meaningful things with them too, which added such a personal touch: little baby pieces, their travel scrapbook, ultrasound photos, and small items that already mean something to their growing family. Nothing overdone — just simple things that helped tell their story.

We wandered from the beach to the field as the evening went on. The goldenrod gave us these warm, beautifully textured frames. It all felt really natural — no rushing, no pressure, just the three of us moving through different spots and letting things unfold.

I’m already so excited to meet and photograph their baby girl in the coming months. Sessions like this always make the newborn chapter feel even more special — seeing the story start here and continue when she arrives.
