hi, i'm ashley allen
OSHAWA FILM INSPIRED FAMILY AND MOTHERHOOD PHOTOGRAPHER
a photographer drawn to honest, emotive storytelling rooted in real life. I’m a mother of two, and that season of beauty and chaos shapes the way I see and create.
My work is about turning everyday moments into timeless heirlooms — photographs meant to be held, remembered, and passed down for generations.
my inspiration ––
My life is deeply shaped by motherhood and the quiet beauty of home. It informs the way I see, the way I work, and the stories I’m drawn to tell.
Like so many mothers, it’s easy to move through the days without stopping — caught between routines and the hope that things will one day feel easier, while knowing this season won’t last forever. That tension is where my work lives.
In every session, the mother is the centre. She deserves to feel seen and beautiful within the life she’s built.
My approach is calm and unhurried. Sessions are designed to feel natural and open, allowing space for real moments to unfold — especially for the mother, who so often puts herself last.
This work is part art, part memory, and entirely personal. If I’m invited to tell your story, it’s an honour.
what led me here ––
Storytelling has always guided my work — across photography, design, and art direction. From documenting everyday moments as a child to studying graphic design and advertising, image-making has been my way of understanding the world.
I spent more than a decade art directing and photographing lifestyle imagery at Spin Master, including years shaping the visual identity of Gund. Working closely with babies, children, and families long before motherhood of my own deepened my appreciation for honest, human stories.
Now, I focus on my own photography, alongside The Photo Bus Booth — a business I co-own with my partner and fiancé, Mitch — where our shared love of nostalgia and vintage design continues to show up in the work.
my process ––
Seeing a project through to its final state has always mattered to me. My work is about more than just photographs — it’s rooted in intuition, feeling, and trusting my creative instincts.
I don’t approach families with a prescribed set of shots. I pay attention, I respond, and I tell the story as it unfolds. That trust in my own vision has shaped my work more than any piece of gear or trend ever could.
i'm so glad
you’re here –
Outside of photography, I’m drawn to the tactile and familiar — cooking and baking, thrifting vintage home décor and clothing, music, and time at home with my family and pets. I have a particular love for 1970s interiors and design, influenced by my grandfather, an architect and painter whose home was filled with vintage furniture and meaningful objects from his travels.
An old soul at heart and naturally introverted, I’m deeply influenced by the arts and tend to move through the world with quiet attentiveness — something that carries through into my work.
